Adam Price has tabled an early day motion in parliament about post office closures in Wales. Individual MPs can sign to support, If you have relatives or friends in other parts of the UK please get them to contact their MP and ask her/him to sign it to show support! Contact us via savellanwrda@btinternet.com if you need the name and email address of a particular MP. Many thanks

We should all follow the sterling example set by village children today. After school they took to the streets to show us all that they want their Post office saved.

The Post Office and Royal mail seem to be unassailable. They can do what they like, ignore advice and instructions and pay themselves whatever bonuses they like while closing down post offices and hurting the vulnerable.

A Response Just sent to cosultation@postoffice.co.uk I hope others will follow suit. Having just watched one of you money wasting adverts on ITV this afternoon, it reminded me of the journey I have made over the last 30 odd years since I moved to Llanwrda. In September 1975 my wife to be and I bought our property across the road from the village post office and shop. In those far off days, the post office also included a sorting office, when all the mail in the area was delivered on foot or by bicycle - isn't progress a marvellous thing: now the Post Office and Royal Mail implant a massive carbon footprint on our country and it takes just as long to get the mail!! But, I digress: I used to travel from my home outside Lampeter occasionally passing a post office and shop in Cwmann (long since closed), then along the A482 to Harford, where there used to be a thriving community, including a shop and a pub (closed); my next village was Pumsaint where there was a shop and post office (closed); I would then turn on to the road to Llandeilo via Talley, passing through Crugybar where there used to be a shop and post office (closed); I would then pass through Talley, where there used to be a shop and post office (closed) and shortly after turn off towards Manordeilo, where there used to be a shop and post office (closed). I worked in Manordeilo for some 4 years and used to visit the shop on a daily basis, as did others in that small community. At weekends, my interests took me into the hills in the east of Carmarthenshire to places like faldybrenin, where there used to be a shop and post office (closed); Caio, where there used to be a shop and post office (closed); Cwrtycadno, where there used...................do I have to go on? All these communities now rely on the post office and shop in Llanwrda. There is nothing left for them. Your Business Development team needs to live up to its name, and start developing business; enough closures - Llanwrda Post Office works; it is profitable; it is a lifeline to many; and is vital to our community.

We no longer have a Post Office and see ourselves as users of yours. Thank you for all your work in trying to save us a service. Good Luck
